Due to the technical difficulties concerning our website for a few days we have extended the deadline of your submissions.
We have received more than 300 applications so far in all five categories – feature films, short films, experimental films, documentaries and animation. Most of them are shorts, but we already have more feature films than last year, and this year there are some recent Hungarian feature films amongst them.
The range of nationalities is again wide, there are submissions from all over the world, but most of them are from Hungary, Germany. There is also a unique Hungarian-Bhutanese coproduction for example.
The pre-juries have started their work. In each category a well-known director and a respected cinematographer is going to decide the nominations for the competition and the info program.

M. Tóth Éva, Kardos Sándor – animations
The head of the jury of the 2nd Zsigmond Vilmos International Film Festival taking place between the 9-12 of May 2018 in Szeged is again Szabó Gábor cinematographer. The further jury members are: Enyedi Ildikó Academy Award nominated director (2018), Muhi András producer of the Academy Award nominated film On Body and Soul (2018), James Chressanthis American cinematographer and Erdély Mátyás, the cinematographer of the Academy Award winning Son of Saul (2016).
