She graduated at the University of Theatre and Film Arts in 2010, in cinematographer János Kende’s class. In 2008 one of her short films was screened at the Hungarian Film Week, and another in 2009, at the International Student Film Festival in Tel-Aviv. In 2013 she was the cinematographer of Géza M. Tóth’s costume film, as well as the cinematographer and co-director of Sam Havadtoy’s short film 5313. In 2014 her film The Execution (dir.: Petra Szőcs) was selected to take part in the short film section at the Cannes film festival.

From 2019 she lived and worked alternately in the US and Hungary and she was the cinematographer of the film Quarter, starring well-known actors.In Hungary she photographed Our Blossom, while her latest film Mommy Blue will premiere in the near future.

Balázs Béla Award-winning cinematographer, university professor. He has photographed more than 30 feature films as well as documentaries, short films, TV films, ads, video clips and concert films. His films have received a number of international prizes, The Revolt of Job was even nominated for an Academy Award. Meteo became a cult classic in the movies after the democratic transformation of 1989. In 2017, he was awarded Best Cinematographer (in Budapest and in Parma) via three separate forums for the film Strangled, which is available on HBO and Netflix.

Besides making films, he has taught cinematography at a number of universities both in Hungary and abroad for decades. As a cinematographer, he was the first to have a PhD/DLA, to habilitate and to receive the title of university professor. He teaches even today, and his A Film Book has become a must-read in film studies.

He is the founder and current president of the Hungarian Cinematographers Association (HCA).

His first feature film FOMO, which was supported by the Incubator program of the National Film Institute and premiered in 2019, received the Hungarian Film Critics’ Award in 2020. Before that, he made short films, such as Ischler, Deliver Us, and Paparazzi.  Post-production of his second feature film The Sinless will finish this year.

At the start of her career, she worked on documentaries uncovering social issues, then co-founded M&M Film with Ernő Mesterházy. They participated in the production of a number of box office hits, while also producing art films such as Szabolcs Hajdu’s Bibliotheque Pascal and Attila Till’s Beast. In the meantime, she co-produced feature films, too, including the award-winning Milky Way and Womb, both directed by Benedek Fliegauf. She also served as the producer of Just the Wind (Berlinale 2012, Silver Bear), Those Who Remained, as well as Ildikó Enyedi’s latest two films, On Body and Soul (Berlinale 2017, Golden Bear) and The Story of My Wife (2021).

She graduated from the University of Theatre and Film Arts in Ildikó Enyedi and Péter Gothár’s class. Her short film ‘Semleges hely‘, made in 2006, premiered at the 39th Hungarian Film Week. Between 2007-2009 she worked as Ildikó Enyed’s teaching assistant at the university. In 2011 she won the scholarship of the Goethe Institute in Hamburg. Between 2014-2016 she was on the staff of Ildikó Enyedi’s film On Body and Soul, while also writing and directing short films. Her first feature film One Day won the international critics’ award in Cannes in 2018. Her second feature January 2 premiered at the 81st Venice Film Festival.
